Team Iowa 54-Hole Recap of Boys PGA High School National Invitational-
Frisco, Texas – Iowa was represented by Mitchell Randall, TJ Thier, Jonah Recker, Luke Harwick, Charlie McDermott, Henry Michael Baker, Kolby Stanton, Krish Gupta, Luca Laffoon, Owen Howe, Cade Sunde, Braden Nelson, Aidan McGreen, C.T. Norris, Eddie Hybels, Easton Korell and David Abbott all competed in the PGA High School National Invitational at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas on July 1-3, 2024.
The courses that were competed on for all days were Field Ranch West Course, OId American Golf Club.
Team Iowa (VAL)
Team Iowa (VAL) placed T16 overall (288-299-316=903, 39-over-par) to represent the state of Iowa down at Frisco, Texas.
Nelson’s first round (July 1) he carded birdies on holes 1, 10, 13 and 17 including a double bogey on hole 15. Nelson’s second round July 2) he carded birdies on holes 7, 8, 13 and 15 including double bogeys on holes 2, 4, 5 and 17. Nelson’s final round (July 3) he carded birdies on holes 6, 9, 14 and 15 including bogeys on holes 8 and 10. His 54-Hole total 70-72-70=212, 4-under-par and placed T14 overall.
McGreen’s first round (July 1) he carded birdies on holes 1, 4, 5, 8 and 17; bogeys on holes 6, 10 and 15 including a double bogey on hole 2. McGreen’s second round (July 2) he carded birdies on holes 10, 11, 12 and 18 including bogeys on holes 1, 7, 13, 14 and 15. McGreen’s final round (July 3) he carded a birdie on hole 17; bogeys on holes 1, 2, 4, 8, 10, 12, 13 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 5. His 54-Hole total 72-73-81=226, 10-over-par and placed T108 overall.
Sunde’s first round (July 1) he carded birdies on holes 1, 2, 6, 8, 9, 14, 15 and 17 including double bogeys on holes 3, 4, 7, 10, 12 and 16. Sunde’s second round (July 2) he carded birdies on holes 6 and 18; bogeys on holes 2, 9, 11, 13, 14 and 16 including a double bogey on hole 1. Sunde’s final round (July 3) he carded an eagle on 18; bogeys on holes 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 including double bogeys on holes 1, 11 and 17. Hybels’s first round (July 1) he carded bogeys on holes 1, 6, 12 and 13. Hybels’s second round (July 2) he carded birdies on holes 6, 16, 17 and 18; bogeys on holes 1, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 14 including a double bogey on hole 7. Hybels’s final round (July 3) he carded birdies on holes 15 and 18; bogeys on holes 3, 5, 12, 13, 14 and 17 including double bogeys on holes 1, 2 and 11.
